The CWUR academic ranking of global universities in 2017 shows SLUs leading position

Center for World University Rankings

The ranking is made by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), publisher of the largest academic ranking of global universities from 60 countries all over the world. The CWUR Rankings by Subject 2017 highlights the world’s elite universities, based on the number of research articles in top-tier journals.

Number one in forestry

The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is ranked as number one in forestry in accordance to the CWUR rankings by subject in 2017. SLU is featured in the Top 10 out of 26,000+ degree-granting institutions of higher education worldwide in four subjects. SLU is ranked worldwide as follows:

  • Forestry (World Rank: 1, Score: 100.00)
  • Soil Science (World Rank: 5, Score: 95.19)
  • Biodiversity Conservation (World Rank: 7, Score: 90.64)
  • Veterinary Sciences (World Rank: 7, Score: 93.98)

Vision of being world leading

The ranking is in line with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences vision of being world leading and should also strengthen SLUs chances to be appointed to host the IUFRO World Congress 2024.
